Library Cards:

GTCC students must present a current-semester GTCC student identification card.

GTCC employees must present a GTCC identification card.

Community borrowers (those with no affiliation to GTCC) may borrow materials from the library but need a library-provided borrowing card. A valid North Carolina picture ID is required in order to obtain this card.

Loan Periods:

Books: 2 weeks with one renewal.

Education videos: 3 days, no renewal.

Popular videos: 2 days, no renewal. (Community borrwers may not check out popular videos)

Audio books: 2 weeks, no renewal.

Library Fines:

Books -- Circulating Collection: $0.10 per book per workday. $10.00 maximum fine for regularly circulating books.

Reserve Items: $0.25 per hour per item, maximum of 8-hours per workday. $10.00 maximum fine per item.

Audio books: $0.10 per recorded media contained in package per workday. $10.00 maximum fine per precorded media contained in a package.

Videos: $1.00 per item per workday. $10.00 maximum fine per item.

Printing & copying:

Jamestown Campus: A free GTCC student ID obtained at the Student Life Office, or a copy card ($3.00) which may be purchased in the Jamestown library or the Applied Technologies computer lab is needed to print from all open-access computers or to use some copiers. Optionally, other copiers accept coins.

Greensboro and High Point campuses: Printout is paid for by cash at the circulation desk.

Quiet Policy:

Staff at the libraries of GTCC are committed to maintaining an environment conducive to research, study, and learning. Minimal noise levels in the libraries are integral to this environment.  Library users and staff must respect the needs of others around them.

Jamestown Campus

First Floor - Quiet Area

The quiet study area of the library is all of the first floor of the LRC building.
Conversation and other noise is to be minimal.
When conversation is necessary it must be at a low volume level on the first floor.
The first floor is the floor at the bottom of the LRC building.

Third Floor

Library users and staff may hold low to medium volume conversations.
The third floor of the Jamestown Campus library is suited to group or class projects.

All Other Areas of the Jamestown Campus Library and the Greensboro and High Point Campus Libraries

Library users and staff may hold low to medium volume conversations.
