A day is any day the library is open, excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
A week is 7 days from the date of checkout.
You check out library materials at the Circulation Desk. You need your current-semester student ID if you are a student, or your library card if you are not.
At the Jamestown Campus library the Circulation Desk is located on the 2nd floor (entry level) of the Learning Resource Center. All library materials are checked out and returned at this desk. The desk also has book-drop slots. You can also return your books in the book drop located on the curb of the road in front of the library. Please return videotapes or DVDs in the library.
You can't miss the Circulation Desks at the Greensboro and High Point Campus libraries. Both of these libraries also have outside book drops.
Lending
Books: 2 weeks, one renewal. For GTCC students and employees there is no maximum number that may by borrowed. Those not affilliated with GTCC (community borrowers) may borrow 6 books.
Reserve Materials: Varies, no renewal. GTCC students and faculty only.
Entertainment videos and DVDs: 2 days, no renewal. Maximum 3 at a time. GTCC students and employees only.
Books on tape or DVD: 2 weeks, no renewal. Maximun 1 title at a time. GTCC students and employees only.
Educational videos and DVDs: 3 days, no renewal. Maximum 3 at a time.
Late and Other Fees
Books: $.10 per day late. If returned unusable, replacement cost of book, plus $5.00 processing fee. Library Director or designee makes final determination in case of dispute.
Reserve Materials: $ .25 per hour late. If returned unusable, replacement cost of material, plus $5.00 processing fee. Library Director or designee makes final determination in case of dispute.
Videos, DVDs, and books on tape: $1.00 per day late per title. $5.00 for material returned damaged. The condition of the material is noted before lending.
**Please note: NC State regulation states, "...no student having any outstanding past-due accounts with that institution is allowed to enroll for the next term."
